Cruise Vacations - Frequently Asked Questions

by Kim Chi

Many beginners to cruise vacations have lot questions. As cruise vacation expert I have heard & have answered all types questions. I have created this article to answer some the common inquiries beginning cruisers.

Do I have to eat on timed schedule? Can I eat whenever I want? Most cruise ships have flexible options so you can dine when you want & where you want. However this will cost you extra & the food choices are limited. I personally choose this choice because I do not like to wait line with all the other hungry masses & prefer to choose my own dining times. Waiting line gets annoying very quickly.

Do I have to eat with all the other guests? Are there any alternatives? Yes you can have an alternative dining experience for an extra cost. Alternative dining tends to be more extravagant quiet & romantic. You can take advantage these services when you want to escape the noise. Make sure you have reservation. Furthermore you will have to pay about $15-$50 to use these services.

What the difference between the outside cabin & the interior cabin? This might sounds complicated but means the outside cabins have porthole or window you can see outside your cabin. Some outside cabins have small balconies. An interior cabin does not have window & usually artwork or curtains cover one wall. The outside cabins cost more than the inside cabins.

Do cell-phones work on cruise ships? Yes they do You can use your cell-phone on the decks & cabins. Basically the majority the ship cell-phone friendly. Be careful however if you do not want to pay roaming fees you should check with your cell-phone provider. When out at sea some ships switch on roaming carriers & you will have to pay hefty fees. When at port the ship will switch back to local carriers.

Do ships have internet access? Most ships have internet access & even have wireless connections. However this does not come without cost. Other ships have internet cafes where they charge you by the minutes. It will cost about . 50 cents per minute & I should remind you connections speeds can be quite slow. Many cruise ships use internet as large revenue generator.
